Balance.
Everything is hard lately. I have been affected by the work-load, my daily life, even by bad weather... If I received good news or something exciting for me, then I feel energetic and can work. If I found a song that I reeeeeally love and am obsessed with, I feel motivated and can work. Yeah, some things make me lazier but on the other hand I have other things that make me more proactive.
It’s just a life, just days, just hours… Why is it so important to feel stable? Can’t you want to be in bed all day? Wake up wake up wake up. You are a human. You are alive. You are living this life. Of course you are affected by everything. I repeat this: you are a human. It is normal. It is normal to feel bad sometimes and feel nice on other days. Or your mood can change over and over again in a day.
You are not a robot. You feel. You think. You need. So, don’t try to show anything to the general public. You don’t owe us anything. Don’t you see you’re struggling honey. You put a lot effort into this shit. Remember this: we’re all just surviving. We’re all broken, tired and exhausted.
25% of the world is covered by water, the remaining 75% is land. So, how can you describe the world? Is it water or land? Having certain characteristics doesn’t define the world (or us). It doesn’t mean we are sad just because we feel sad. Just because you want to sleep in and do nothing some days doesn’t define you are lazy. You may be very social today and want to be alone the next.
Balance is the most important thing in my world. Because I accept everything in my life. I have to accept them. Yes honey, I tried ignoring them but it never helped me on my healing journey. Accepting them, investigating them, understanding them and saying “um, okay then” makes me happier. I am happy even if I feel sad because feeling any emotions can’t change who I am. You see the difference right. We say, I feel sad. Not I am sad.
If I can meet my needs, I will eventually find my balance. Feeling something that you label as bad, seeing yourself acting against your values, being in a situation that you don’t like doesn’t mean that you’ve become someone else; on the contrary, it sheds light on the question of what you need right now to be the person you want.
Don’t blame yourself, don’t label yourself. Sit with your emotions. As Dr Siegel once said: Name it to tame it!
